I recall, maybe wrongly, that VW had a more convincing choral ensemble sound but, all told, I think they might have improved it further before making it available for OSX.

Le fait qu'il n'y ait eu aucune évolution (y compris après le passage à Mac OS X) m'a obligé à l'abandonner au profit de VS, et je ne le regrette pas, au vu de la qualité de ce dernier.

Ceci dit, il était loin d'avoir toutes les fonctions d'Harmony, plus compliqué à utiliser (avec des voix en anglais uniquement) tout en étant beaucoup plus cher. Je crois me souvenir qu'il était apparu en 1998, soit avant Virtual Singer, mais je n'en suis pas sûr. The original Vocal Writer does, in fact, go back a way but I suppose VS does as well.

I've noticed now that it only sings English lyrics which is rather too restrictive for me. They didn't bring the software up to date till now.

I was taken by surprise when I saw this today in ! I tried it out some years ago in OS 8 or 9 and at that time I thought it produced some nice atmospheric effects with problems mostly having to do with pronunciation (which seemed to be only American mid-western or something like it.) and gender.
